FRAMINGHAM – Owners of some 500,000 Honda models will receive recall notices starting April 17, due to the fact that front seat belts may not latch properly.

AAA Northeast urges affected Honda owners to respond to the recall notice, to be sure one of the vehicle’s top safety mechanisms is in perfect working order.

The recall includes the 2017-2020 CR-V, the 2018- 2019 Accord, the 2018-2020 Odyssey, 2019 Odyssey, and the 2019-2020 Acura RDX. The concern is that problems with the front seat belt release button can stop the buckle from latching, increasing the risk of injury to a driver or passenger in a crash.

Car owners can find recall information easily through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website, NHTSA.gov/recalls.
