FRAMINGHAM- Carlene M. (Lane) Porretta, age 91, a lifelong resident of Framingham, died peacefully in the comfort and care of her loving husband Rocco F. Porretta on Sunday, March 12, 2023.
Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Thelma Lane.
She was a 1951 graduate of Framingham High School.
Carlene worked for 40 years as a buyer and in sales at the former Jordan Marsh Co. in Shoppers World.
Carlene and Rocco met 61 years ago at the Beacon Terrace in Framingham while dancing, one of Carlene’s favorite pastimes. They had a special love for each other, and everyone knew them as Carly and Rocky…never just one, but as a pair. Carlene had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing, especially along to her favorite music. She loved the Carpenters, Frank Sinatra, Sergio Franchi and many more, most of whom she met at the Chateau De Ville in Framingham. She enjoyed traveling with Rocco over the years and visited beautiful destinations including Italy, France, England along with many islands, Florida and cruises. Her biggest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She loved to bake, write and had quite an artistic flair for drawing. She was known for her German Chocolate Cake, amazing Bread Pudding and Italian cookies. She will be missed by everyone she touched with her beautiful smile and outgoing personality.
Besides her loving husband, Rocco Porretta of Framingham, she will be forever missed by her nieces and nephews, Frank Ferrini and his wife Kathleen of E. Sandwich, Arlene Ferrini of Framingham, Diane Paolini of Framingham, David Ferrini and his partner Barry Barton of Framingham, Brandan Bowen of Marlborough, Jennifer Cunningham and her husband Dana of Southborough, Stefanie Cullen of Natick, Stacie Tersoni and her husband Douglas of Framingham, Roberta Bowen of Plymouth, Christopher Bowen and his wife Nicole of Framingham, Tracie Driscoll Porretta and her husband Dean of Orlando, FL and Michael Porretta of California and many great nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visiting hours on Sunday, March 19, 2023, from 2-4 p.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street, (corner of Union Ave.) Framingham, MA.
Her funeral services will be held privately.
