FRAMINGHAM _ Ellen Leah (Miller) Hatch, 69, died on March 9, 2023 at her residence in Framingham surrounded by those who loved her following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on March 13, 1953 the daughter of the late Harrison C. Miller and Norma I. (Keith) Miller.

Ellen was the beloved wife for 34 years of William B. “Billy” Hatch of Framingham. Sister of Susan I. Hunter and her husband Gerard of Wolfeboro, NH and Diane Miller of Framingham. Also, she was the sister of the late Jane E. Chouinard. Aunt of Paul Miller and his wife Lillian; Bryan Chouinard and his wife Bara; Matthew Chouinard and his wife Kelley and the late Brianna Miller. Great aunt of Alesandra; Paul; Isabela, Emily and Joey.

Ellen was a longtime resident of Wayland and has been a resident of Framingham for over 20 years.

She graduated from Wayland High School with the Class of 1971.

For several years, Ellen worked at the Stop and Shop in Framingham on Old Connecticut Path as a cashier and loved meeting people from all walks of life until her recent illness.

She was associated in the administrative offices before retiring with NASDI in Waltham.

In her earlier years, she was a Hostess for the Villa Restaurant in Cochituate.

Ellen loved animals of every species. She was an accomplished horsewoman and, as a young woman, competed in many local competitions with several of her horses. She also adored all the Golden Retrievers that she and Billy had over the years.

Ellen will be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her kindness to everyone she met.

Visitations will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rt 30), Wayland.

Private services will be held for her family.

She will be buried with her parents in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
