FRAMINGHAM – Phyllis K. Reis (Kaufman), 85, of Framingham, , passed away peacefully on Saturday March, 4, 2023.

Phyllis was a beloved mom, grandma, nana, sister, aunt, and friend of many.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Phyllis was the oldest daughter of Albert and Luba Kaufman. She grew up in West Hartford, CT, raised her three (3) children in Bloomfield, CT, and later moved to Framingham, MA.

She was a bookkeeper by profession, but also enjoyed working as a cosmetician and in retail sales.  She worked most of her career at Park Avenue Pharmacy in Bloomfield, CT, the Jewish Federation in West Hartford, CT, or at Parkade Health Shoppe in Manchester, CT.

Phyllis is survived by her children Mitch Reis and his wife Mary of CT, Abbe Reis and her husband Aaron Rosenbaum of VA, and Sheri Mackinnon and her husband Donnie of MA.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shannon Moran and her husband Frankie, and great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Maddox, and Addison (deceased).  She was predeceased by her sister, Sandy Sack and is survived by her brother-in-law Larry Sack. 

Her family would like to extend a special thank you to her health companion and family friend, Karen Velasco Duffy.  

Thank you also to the  second-floor staff at St. Patrick’s Manor.

Family and friends will honor and remember Phyllis’ life by gathering for her funeral services on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in McCarthy McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln Street, Framingham.

Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at the Hartford Mutual Society Memorial Park, 74 Wolcott Street, East Granby, CT.  

The family will be welcoming friends on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 4 to 8 p.m. at their home in Framingham 

Donations in her memory can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s’ Association.
