FRAMINGHAM – Margaret Mary “Peggy” (Sullivan) O’Neill, a resident of Framingham, passed away on February 10, 2023 after a battle with COPD and kidney failure.

Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of Irish immigrants, John J. & Margaret Mary (Harrington) Sullivan, and the beloved wife of John P. O’Neill.

Peggy was raised and educated in Norwood and was a graduate of Norwood High School, and attended the Chandler School, Boston. She went on to work at the Hospital School in Canton, and later in the pediatric practice of Dr. Theodore Goodman.

She married John and they settled in Framingham to raise their family. Peggy briefly worked in retail fashion before becoming the secretary to the Athletic Director at Regis College, becoming the Public Relations face to all who utilized the athletic complex.

In her retirement, Peg spent summers in Falmouth, and wintered in Sarasota, FL. She enjoyed her travels with Jack on his business trips, across the country, and particularly Tucson, AZ in the spring. Even as the bouts of COPD began to restrict her mobility, she was always up for the annual car trip to Sarasota and enjoyed all the stops along the way such as the Marine Corps Museum, Charleston, Savannah, Annapolis, and Washington, DC.

Besides her loving husband John “Jack”, Peg is survived by her daughter, Erin Barriere & her husband Steve of Westborough, she lived for her boys, her grandsons, Griffin and Garrett of Westborough, her sisters, Marion Plaisted of Westwood, and Frances “Nancy” Beaudoin of Falmouth, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Peggy’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Wednesday, February 15th from 8:30-10:30 a.m.

Her Funeral Mass will follow in St. George Church, 74 School St. Saxonville at 11 o’clock. Interment in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:45 p.m.
