FRAMINGHAM – It is with heavy hearts; we share the news that Joanne (Leonardi) Sostilio has passed away at the Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center in Natick after a brief illness. She was 82 years old.
She was born, raised, and lived in Framingham all her life. She was the daughter of the late Domenic (DiLeonardo) Leonardi and Ida (Paolini) Leonardi of Framingham.
She was a graduate of Framingham South High School, Class of 1958.
After high school she attended hairdressing school and was a hairdresser until she dyed a customer’s hair orange.
After that she met and married her now former husband and had three sons.
She devoted her early years to raising her children and then became a waitress at a family owned restaurant.
Always a quick wit, and kind words, she would love to banter with the customers. She was also quite an enthusiastic philanthropist, donating most of her money to the casinos, bingo halls, and slot machines across America.
She volunteered for many years at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham, spending time with Alzheimer’s patients.
Joanne is survived by her three sons, Louis, Paul, and Stephen, five grandchildren who lovingly called her “Nonni”, her brother John Leonardi and many nieces and nephews who called her “Auntie Joanne”.
Joanne is preceded in death by her always loving sister, Ines Ablondi and brother Joseph Pascucci.
Private services will be held and are entrusted to the care of the Norton Funeral Home in Framingham.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mary Ann Morse (www.maryannmorse.org/donate), a charity of one’s choice or visit any casino, put $1 in a slot machine and may Joanne shine a 777 jackpot upon you!
