FRAMINGHAM – Merilyn G. Thompson, 87, of Medway and formerly of Millis and Holliston, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023.

Merilyn was born in Sellersville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Ada (Cooley) and Joseph Gallagher.

She was the companion of 20 years to Lou Raneri.

Merilyn worked as a registered nurse for 60 years, with 30 years at Kathleen Daniels Nursing Home in Framingham. She was a respiratory therapy instructor at Holliston Junior College.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved her family and friends and filled her home with warmth and kindness.

Merilyn was the mother of the late Michael Thompson, who passed in 2007. She is survived by her daughter, Anne P. Thompson (Mark Hutchinson) of Medway, Andrew P. Thompson of CT; her sister, Patricia Gorman of New Holland, PA; four grandchildren, Conrad and Derek Thompson, who loved their grandmother very much, Danielle Sheldon and Gregory Thompson; 4 great-grandchildren. Special thanks to  Anne Cashman, Denise Henderson, Maureen Daley and Irene Castillo for your kindness and compassion during a time of need.

Private family services are being held.

Arrangements are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston.
