FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Police arrested a Framingham woman early Saturday morning.

Police arrested at 2:39 a.,. on Hollis Street Nekayla A. Gakwerere, 21, of 18 Lindsay Street of Framingham.

“An officer observed Gakwerere operating at a high rate of speed on Waverley Street,” said Framingham Police spokesperson Lt. Rachel Mickens.

“She failed to stop when the officer attempted to pull her over,” said Lt. Mickens. “She went off road causing damage to a lawn and striking a rock at 395 Hollis Street, and did not stop.”

She finally stopped on Lindsey Street, said the police spokesperson.

Gakwerere was “found to be operating without a license and vehicle was unregistered/uninsured,” said Lt. Mickens. 

She was charged with leaving the scene of a crash with property damage, failure to stop for police, speeding at a rate greater than reasonable, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle that is uninsured, subsequent offense, and operating a motor vehicle after registration suspended.
