FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham State women’s basketball team defeated Fitchburg State by a score of 85-32 in MASCAC action Wednesday evening in Framingham.  

Framingham State improves to 10-3 overall and 2-1 in the Conference.

Fitchburg State drops to 3-11 overall and 1-1 in the Conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • Junior Flannery O’Connor scored a game-high 16 points on 7-of-13 from the floor with ten rebounds to earn the double-double. Jenna Tavanese added 15 points connecting on 4-of-8 from long range.  
  • Katherine Haselton scored 13 points while Gabriella Redford scored a career-high 11 points.  
  • The Falcons were led by Kathryn Hart who scored 11 points with three boards and an assist off the bench for Fitchburg.  
  • As a team the Rams shot 46% from the floor and 39% from beyond the arc. 
  • The Falcons finished at 16% clip from the field and 17% from long range.  
  • The Rams dominated the glass picking up 67 rebounds and converting for 16 second chance points. They were also able to turn 17 Fitchburg turnovers into 14 points while the Falcons only registered three points on turnovers despite forcing 14.

UP NEXT:  Framingham State returns to the court on Saturday when they travel to MCLA for a MASCAC tilt starting at 2pm. The Falcons will travel to Salem State in MASCAC action on Saturday at 2pm.
