BOSTON – The Natick High girls indoor track & field team lost to Newton North High at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston on Thursday, January 5.

The final score was 71-29 Tigers.

Newton North swept the 55-meter dash event to take a quick 9-0 lead in the meet.

Natick narrowed the led to 10-8 after two events, by finished first and second in the 300-meter event.

Brooke Spiegel won the event in 45.31 seconds, with her Natick teammate Eliza Campana second in 45.51 seconds.

Natick closed the gap to 14-13, after Kendall Hacker own the 600-meter event in 1:51.34 minutes. The Tigers took second and third place.

Newton North’s Ciara Evans won the 1,000-meter event in 3:07.05 minutes. Natick finished second & third. Rowan Shumaker was second in 3:21.98 minutes with Zoe Waldron third.

After 4 events, Newton North had a 19-17 lead.

Redhawk Alison Warren won the mile event in 5:38.30 minutes. Tigers took second and third, and had a 23-21 lead over Natick.

That was the closest Natick would get, as the Tigers controlled the field events, taking first and second place in the high jump, long jump, and shot put.

Natick’s Caroline Niedermeyer was third in the long jump.

Redhawk Alyssa Peasley was third in the high jump.

Natick’s Cricket Lemon was third in the shot put.

After the field events, Tigers led the meet 47-25.

Newton North won both relays and had a 62-29 lead in the meet

In the final event, the Tigers swept the 2-mile event.
