NATICK – The Natick High swimmers & divers finished in 7th place at the MIAA Division 2 State Championship today, November 13.

Bay State Conference rival Wellesley High won the Division 2 team title with 477.52 points.

Needham High captured second place as a time, another bay State Conference team, with 330 points.

Natick scored 150 points in the state meet.

Junior Katie Dorey won the Division II diving title.

Two swimmers finished in second place in two events.

Ava Wong finished second in the 200-yard freestyle. Her time was 1:58.11 minutes. A Winchester swimmer won the event in 1:56.88 minutes.

Wong also finished third in the 100-yard backstroke. Her time was 58.81. Bay State Conference swimmers from Wellesley & Needham took 1-2 in that event.

Natick senior Michelle Li took second place in the 100-yard breaststroke. her time was 1:07.84. The winner was 2 seconds faster at 1:05.84.

Li also finished 5th in the individual medley. Her time was 2:18.73 minutes.

The Redhawks medley relay team finished sixth overall in 1:56.92 minutes. Wellesley High swimmers won the event in 1:51.13 minutes., Natick swimmers were

Wong, Sarah Shentu, Li and Abbey Lipoma.

Senior Shentu finished 21st overall in the 100-yard freestyle event in 59.28 seconds.

The Redhawks ended the meet taking 6th place in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Their time was 3:53.28 Swimmers were Lipoma, Shentu, Li and Wong.
