FRAMINGHAM – Framingham High co-ed field hockey team travelled to Newton for a game against the Tigers of Newton North High this evening, October 19.

Newton North put a goal away right in the corner early in the first quarter, with the play being executed by Caitlin Conroy.

The score remained 1-0 at half time.

Flyers began the second half determined to get themselves back into the game.

Their press remained strong as they turned over the ball and held good possession.

Natalie Stevens proved once again that she remains a crucial player in the Flyers defensive line as she broke down the Tigers attack a number of times.

Senior Layna Demko was solid in her defensive skills and successfully kept the Newton North forwards out of the Framingham circle.

Through a beautifully executed play down the right hand side of the field, saw junior Mackenzie Coleman provide an assist allowing Jess Garcia to connect with the ball and find the back of the goal to bring the score to 1-1.

Both teams fought until the very end, the match was an exciting one for spectators as the teams were evenly challenged.

Framingham will be away next week Wednesday at Milton. The game is scheduled for 4 p.m.

The Flyers game against Needham, and senior day has been rescheduled to October 28.
