1 Framingham Public Schools students have a long, long holiday weekend. Today there is no school for students, but it is a professional development day for staff and teachers.
Monday is the federal Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples’ day holiday.
2. There is an Indigenous People’s Day ceremony on Monday at Fuller Middle School outside. The public is invited.

- Framingham High’s unified sports team lost to Natick High in its season opener on Thursday.
- Framingham High co-ed field hockey team hosts Brookline High at Phil Read Field at 4 p.m.
- Girls swim & dive competes against the Rockets of Needham High at Babson College at 5 p.m.
- Coming off their first win, the football team travels to Newton for a 6 p.m. game against the Tigers of Newton North
- Boys soccer tied Weymouth last night, and will battle Shrewsbury High on the road on Saturday at noon.
- Girls soccer has an away game against Boston Latin at 1 p.m. on Saturday

- Keefe Tech hosts Southbridge at 7 p.m. at the Maple Street Field on the campus of Framingham State University

4. LIBRARY EVENTS:
- Co-authors Kevin A. Swope and James L. Parr present stories from their book, Murder and Mayhem in Metrowest Boston at the main Framingham Public Library at noon as part of the Brown Bag Learning Series.
- Main Framingham Library will screen the movie Nighmare Alley, Rated R, at 7 p.m. Free to attend.
