FRAMINGHAM – Stephen D. Flynn, 71, of Framingham and Medford passed away at Lahey Clinic in Burlington on October 4, 2022 after a brief illness.

Mr. Flynn was the son of the late Daniel Flynn and Ann (Comeau) Flynn and the devoted companion and best friend of Cammy Morteo.

Steve was best known for his accomplishments in area public and private schools teaching English in the classroom and directing, staging and playing piano for many musical theatre productions. He spent most of his teaching years at Matignon High School in Cambridge and Marian High School in Framingham.

Steve also performed at Falmouth Playhouse, Pocono Playhouse and Bucks County Playhouse. His roles included Daddy Warbucks in “Annie”, Julian Marsh in “42nd Street”, Don Quixote in “Man of La Mancha” and Albin in “La Cage Aux Folles”.

He was also very active in the Mystic Players of Medford directing and musically directing many productions.

His last endeavor was teaching English and establishing a Drama Program at the Academy of Notre Dame in Tyngsboro, where he brought the Academy Playmakers to round two of the METG Festival in 2022 with “The Women of Lockerbie” and where he scheduled fall auditions for the Christmastime production of “Annie” when he fell ill.

Family and friends will honor and remember Stephen’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Friday, October 7 from 4-8 p.m.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Bridget Church, 830 Worcester Rd., Framingham on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m.

Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery in Roslindale.
