1 Today begins registration for the City of Framingham’s Parks & Recreation Department’s skating lessons.
2. Tuesday, October 4 at sundown begins Yom Kippur, one of the holiest days in the Jewish calendar. There are no meetings scheduled this week on October 4 or October 5 due to the Jewish holiday. Due to the Jewish holiday, School Committee which typically meets on Wednesday nights will meet tonight. And City Council which typically meets on Tuesday nights, will meet on Thursday night this week.

- Framingham City Council: Environment & Sustainability Subcommittee at 6 p.m.
- Framingham School Committee at 7 pm. in the Blumer room in the Memorial Building.

3. FLYERS IN ACTION today:
- Big win for the Framingham High football team on Friday night against Brookline High. It was their first win of the season.
- Co-ed field hockey has a road game today at 3:45 p.m.against weymouth High.
- Boys soccer has a road game today against Boston Latin Academy at 4 p.m. They tied Lexington 1-1 on Saturday.
- Girls swim & dive lost to Newton North High over the weekend and today will travel to Blue Hills High fro a meet against Milton High at 4:15 p.m.

5. LIBRARY EVENTS:
- Christa McAuliffe Library will host a reception with the five artists who participated in the live painting at the Framingham Public Library Foundation’s Noche de Fiesta this summer from 7 to 8 p.m. The first-time summer event raised money for the Foundation which supports the Framingham Public Library. The five paintings are available in a silent auction online through October 15, the end of Hispanic Heritage Month. 50% of the proceeds of each painting sold go to the artist and 50% go to the Foundation.
