NATICK – On Wednesday, September 14, 2022, our beloved husband, father, brother and son, Jesse David Goldstein, peacefully passed away. He was 47.
Born in Boston and raised in Natick, he was a resident of Newton for many years. He attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where he met his future wife, Denise, and graduated with a degree in English Literature.
He then went on to earn his Optician’s license and spent many years in practice at Weston Optical, the family business in Wayland, Massachusetts. He thoroughly enjoyed getting to know his clients and was most happy when they were pleased with his care.
Jesse was an avid reader and enjoyed speculative fiction writing and especially enjoyed the historic novels of Patrick O’Brian depicting maritime battles of the Napoleonic era. He reread that entire lengthy series many times over and never tired of discussing it. He loved to learn new things and create and especially loved to experiment in the kitchen.
Over the last few years Jesse was stricken with physical disabilities resulting from the diabetes he contracted at an early age. He faced these challenges with courage and strength and without complaint. Ever an optimist, he often expressed gratitude for all he had and how lucky he had been. He was always kind and supportive of others and had many appreciative and loyal friends and relatives who loved and will miss him. His wife Denise and daughter, Isabel were unwavering in their love and support of him. He is survived by his wife Denise, daughter Isabel, sister Sarah of Hudson, Massachusetts, parents Russell and Susan of Portsmouth, New Hampshire and his beloved cat Riley.
There will be a memorial service on Sunday, October 2 from 12 to 3 p.m. at John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 5 Park Street, Natick,.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation mailing address is JDRF, 60 Walnut St., Wellesley 02481
