WELLESLEY – The Framingham High boys soccer team won its fourth game of the season earlier today in Wellesley.

The Flyers defeated Raiders of Wellesley High 2-1 on the road

Framingham took the lead on a penalty kick by senior captain Ben Sharon.

The Flyers added to the lead when senior defender Diego Miranda found senior forward Patrick Simoes on a free kick. Simoes headed the ball past the keeper for the goal, said coach Jon Wood.

Wellesley cut the lead in half on a free kick of their own.

“The Raiders caught the Flyers sleeping and found an open man in front of the goal,” said Coach Wood.

Junior goalie Sam Alexander made his first varsity start and was excellent in net, said Coach Wood.

Alexander “made several key saves to preserve the win,” said Coach Wood.

Flyers are now 4-0-1, under head coach Dan Avery.

Framingham travels to Walpole High for another bay State Conference road game on Thursday.
