FRAMINGHAM – It is with great sadness, but great hope that we announce the death of Craig Lee Thompson at the age of 69, a beloved husband, father, stepfather and friend and lover of Jesus. After an intense battle with stage four cancer and chronic lung disease, Craig’s family said goodbye to him early in the morning on September 15, 2022. He passed into eternity peacefully with Shelly beside him.

Craig was born on June 1, 1953, in Denver Colorado.

Craig had a great legacy of love and has dedicated much of his life to reaching out to others who, like himself, suffered and seek recovery from substance abuse alongside his wife Shelly. He has affected many lives by his dedication to seeing lives changed and transformed, and is greatly loved by his wife, family, band of brothers, church, friends and many others who were blessed to be recipients of his love and dedication.

Craig was an avid lover of God and worshipper and led his family with a strong dedication to the Lord. He was an adventurer, a joker, a dedicated husband, a hard worker, a true friend, a servant hearted man, a home chef, a biker dude, the comic relief needed for situations, and so much more, and most importantly he was a gift to so many.

Craig was so strong and held true to the meaning of his name, which means “rock”. Craig was a rock for so many of us, he was a blessing and brought stability and security to all who trusted in him. He leaves behind his beloved wife Shelly, four siblings: Shelley, Keith, Lisa and Kathy, eight children: Peter, Amy, James, Mark, Christina, Stephanie, Richard and Anthony, and ten grandchildren: Pearl, Nathanael, Daniel, Sophie, Collin, Tanner, Noble, Chloe, Silas and Everest.

Craig will be greatly missed by his family and friends, and though we are sorrowful on this side of eternity, we rejoice with his union to his Abba Father in Heaven.

Family and friends will honor and remember Craig’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Wednesday, September 21 from 4-8 p.m.

His Funeral Services will be held on Thursday morning in the Funeral Home at 10 o’clock.

Interment will follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:45 p.m.
