FRAMINGHAM – On September 10, 2022 Barbara Mary Jerome of Framingham, a former 50-year resident of Holliston, passed away at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, after a brief period of declining health.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary (Sellarole) Elsasser.

She was the beloved wife of Thomas R. Jerome for 58 years.

Barbara was active in the Holliston community. She was a founding member of the Holliston Mystery Group. Barbara was also a member of the Holliston Congregational Church for many years, serving as the clerk of the Church for over 10 years.

She was an elementary school teacher in Ridley Township, PA, a homemaker while her children were growing up, and an office manager.

She was an avid bridge player, a voracious book reader and a 3 season New England sports fan of the Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins. Most importantly, Barbara cherished her family and friends. She loved to entertain and was happiest when she was surrounded by loved ones.

She is survived by her husband Tom, two daughters, Carolynn Jerome of Anchorage, AK and Christine Jerome of Arlington. She also leaves behind her brother, Ted Elsasser and his wife, Beverly of Tullahoma, TN, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 25 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com 

A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 3 p.m.

Interment will be held privately at a later date.
