NORTON – The National Weather Service in Boston/Norton has issued a flood watch through Tuesday, September 6 for most of Middlesex County, including MetroWest and Framingham.

The flooding will be caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

The heavy rains should help with the excessive drought the region is in but will cause other problems.

.Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

Rainfall amounts of 3 to 5 inches are expected over much of Southern New England with localized amounts of 5 to 7 inches or more.
