FRAMINGHAM – Shawn Paul Moran, 68 of South Chatham, and formerly of Framingham, and Natick, passed away suddenly, but peacefully, at Lahey Clinic, on August 10, 2022, following complications from a brief medical illness.
Shawn was the loving and proud father of his son, Ryan Moran, and his wife Melynda, and their children Emily and Tyler, of Vacaville CA, his son, Matthew Moran of Nantucket, and his daughter, Janet Moran of Natick.
Shawn was the was a graduate of St. Bridget’s School and Marian High School (1972) in Framingham where he spent all of his childhood years. Shawn attended Newbury Junior College in Boston, before beginning his lengthy career in retail sales.
Shawn’s greatest accomplishments were becoming a father and grandfather.
Since 2010, Shawn enjoyed living and working on Cape Cod, taking long walks along the beaches, appreciating many beautiful sunrises and sunsets, while spending time with his family, friends and neighbors. Shawn was a lifelong, avid sports fan with a soft spot for all Boston teams and participated in fantasy baseball for many years. He enjoyed reading. He had a never-ending passion for listening to music and he loved catching up with old friends. He had become a very, accomplished gardener so it was no surprise that within the past several years, Shawn took a keen liking to a career in the floral industry at Stop and Shop in Harwich, MA, where he excelled as a valued employee and took great pride in his work, loving the job he did.
Shawn was predeceased by his father Austin J. Moran of Framingham and South Chatham, MA. In addition to his children and grandchildren, Shawn leaves his mother Mary (Marie Bastien) Moran, of South Chatham, MA, previously Framingham, MA. He also leaves five siblings, Kathleen Vogel and husband Daniel of Wellesley, MA, Kevin Moran and wife Karen of Northborough, MA, Austin Moran Jr. and wife Susan of Byfield, MA, Timothy Moran and wife Patricia of Framingham, MA, and Elizabeth Pratt and husband Kenneth of South Chatham, MA. Shawn also leaves countless cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, along with numerous life-long friends. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
A Memorial Celebration of Shawn’s life will be held at Norton Funeral Home, 53 BeechStreet in Framingham, on Thursday August 18, 2022, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Shawn’s children will welcome all his friends and loved ones to celebrate their father’s life.
