FRAMINGHAM – Today is the last day the City of Framingham trio of public beaches will be staffed with lifeguards.

And at 5 p.m. today, August 11, the Parks & Recreations Department announced that two of the three beaches failed water quality tests.

“Learned beach and Waushakum beach are closed until further notice, announced the City Department around 5:15 p.m. today.

“The waterfront at Learned Pond AND Lake Waushakum are closed due to elevated E.coli bacteria counts. The water will be re-tested and the waterfront will open once the bacteria is back within acceptable limits.Swimming may cause illness,” posted the City of Framingham.

Saxonville Beach is not affected by this closure.
