FRAMINGHAM – City of Framingham Mayor Charlie Sisitsky announced he has hired Reading resident, Kathryn Fallon, as Framingham’s new City Solicitor. Fallon will start with the City on Monday, August 15.

Her starting salary is $175,000.

Fallon comes to Framingham from the City of Malden, where, over the past 26 years, she has served as the Assistant City Solicitor, and most recently over the last 15 years, as the City Solicitor.

As Malden’s City Solicitor, Fallon provided in-house legal representation on all legal matters pertaining to City operations. She has worked on cases ranging from civil rights, to civil service, employment, torts, zoning appeals, and much more. Fallon brings extensive experience representing the City, its employees, and officials in federal court, trial court, appellate court, the Supreme Judicial Court, and the United States District Court.

Fallon’s day to day duties in Malden mirror that of which she will be performing in Framingham. As Framingham’s City Solicitor she will serve as the City’s chief legal counsel and represent the City in a variety of matters in and out of the courts. Her duties will include providing a broad range of legal services to City departments such as preparation of contracts, advising on compliance with various statutes, regulations, property and title matters, as well as advising on any City ordinances, regulations, or the City Charter.

“Kathryn’s accomplished and tenured career in municipal law speaks for itself. I am confident in her abilities as a legal professional and eager for her to join our growing team,” said Mayor Sisitsky.

My background in town and city public service will assist me with quickly getting up to speed on Framingham’s legal matters,” said Fallon. “I look forward to getting started in Framingham and working toward the mission and goals of Mayor Sisitsky’s administration.”

Fallon, who oversaw a team of four full time Law Department employees in Malden, will begin to build Framingham’s first in-house City Solicitor’s Office.
