ASHLAND – Two individuals were seriously injured in a car crash on Fountain Street in Ashland this afternoon, July 28, said Ashland Police Lt. Richard Briggs.

The single-car crash happened at 130 Fountain Street.

According to witnesses, the Nissan vehicle was traveling towards Ashland when it veered left into the woods and struck a tree, said Lt. Briggs.

The vehicle had two occupants – a female, 21, from Natick, and a man, 20, from Duxbury, said Lt. Briggs.

Police have not yet determined who was the driver.

The female was ejected from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries.

She was flown by helicopter to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

The male was transported also to that trauma center in Worcester by by a Brewster Ambulance out of Framingham, Said Lt. Briggs.

Both the male and the female were conscious

The vehicle sustained heavy damage, said Lt Briggs.

The crash is still under investigation by Ashland Police, with assistant from Mass State Police, said Lt. Briggs.
