FRAMINGHAM – R. Michael Wresinski, 73, of Mashpee and formerly of Framingham, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his wife and daughter on July 9, 2022 in his home in Mashpee.

Michael was predeceased by his father Chester E Wresinski and his mother Helen T (Golembeski) Wresinski and his much adored companion Chowder.

Michael leaves his wife of 35 years, Donna A (Merola) Wresinski, of Mashpee, his daughter Teri Shea and her husband Jamie Shea of Framingham. Daughter-in-law, Laura Allen of Litchfield, NH. Grandchildren; Symphony, Dunnivan and Sonnet Shea of Framingham. David, Jeffrey, Tori and Joey Allen of Litchfield, NH. Cousin, like his sister, and her husband Eileen and Ron Frigon of Hampton, NH. Sister-in-law Laurie Merola of Lakeville and brother-in-law Joseph Merola of Kingston. He also leaves his new puppy Clipper and his best friends Bob and Pattie Cohen of Ashland and Jim and Lana Myers of Westboro.

Upon retirement in 2012, Michael and Donna bought their dream home on Ashumet Pond in Mashpee. Michael and his dog Chowder spent hundreds of hours on the deck and on his boat together.

Although Michael had a varied career, work never defined him. He was happiest with Donna and when he could share his love of stage acting and directing with his theater community both on and off the Cape. He was an active member of Vokes Theater in Wayland for many years. Favorite roles included; Creon in “Antigone” and King Arthur in “Camelot” a role he reprised many times to well earned rave reviews. He also graced the stages from Worcester to Boston in roles including; the King in “The King and I”, Nathan Detroit in “Guys and Dolls” and Henry Higgins in “My Fair Lady”.

Upon retirement Michael began working with the Cotuit Center for the Arts where he performed but also directed “Art” , a shining moment for him. He also performed at Eventide Theatre Company, in Dennis, and did many shows and made life-long friends as a part of Falmouth Theater Guild productions.

Michael was a lover of film, music, reading and travel. He could name the film composer of every movie after hearing just the first few notes. If you were lucky enough to know and love Michael you were captivated by his deep, velvety speaking voice. For the past several years he volunteered for the Audible Local Ledger as a reader for the blind. He took great pride in these recordings and did this work until his illness made it impossible for him to continue.

Donna and Michael met doing theater and were married in 1986. Over the last 35 years they shared hundreds of theater experiences, traveled to numerous European countries and enjoyed cruises and road trips together.

Michael graduated from Framingham South High in 1967 and attended college at Boston University and Northwood University where he received a degree in Advertising and Theater. While in school he was a member of the Detroit Repertory Company. He has been recognized many times for his advertising and theater work.

Michael’s family would like to thank Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and Plymouth and the Cape Cod VNA Hospice for their loving care. Special thanks to Lois Bartells, nurse practitioner in Plymouth and Dr. Varun Iyengar at Beth Israel Boston for their outstanding love and care.

Michael will be dearly missed by countless friends, his loving daughter and grandchildren, but mostly by Donna, his soulmate. Until we meet again across a crowded room. “2”
