FRAMINGHAM – Priscila Sousa announced today, July 13, she has received the endorsement by the Massachusetts AFL-CIO for State Representative of the 6th Middlesex District.

“We are proud to support candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to the values and principles of the Labor Movement,” said Steven Tolman, President of the Massachusetts AFL-CIO. “I would like to congratulate you on earning the endorsement of the Massachusetts AFL-CIO and our nearly half a million members across the Commonwealth.”

“Our working men and women are the heart of Framingham. I am honored to receive the support of Massachusetts’ largest labor organization. Our residents deserve a State Representation who is their champion on the critical issues of being paid a fair living wage, the right to organize, and who will stand with them in the fight for economic, social and racial justice in the workplace and our Commonwealth,” said Sousa.

This announcement follows her endorsements by the Framingham Firefighters IAFF Local 1652 and the Carpenters Local 336.

The Massachusetts AFL-CIO is the state’s largest labor organization, representing more than 750 local unions and nearly half a million members across the Commonwealth. The role of the Massachusetts AFL-CIO is to serve as the unified voice of all organized workers in the Commonwealth and to be a voice for all working people, those in unions and those not yet organized. Their mission is to improve the lives of working families—by working for economic, social and racial justice in the workplace, in our communities, our state and in our nation. Their vision is of a fair and just society that benefits all working people, not a system that’s rigged in favor of the wealthy few.
