FRAMINGHAM – Kenneth Gilbert Arico, 93 of Framingham, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2022 surrounded by family following a brief illness.

He was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen (O’Connor) to whom he was married to for 59 years.

He was born November 15, 1928 in Waltham, and was the youngest son of the late Joseph and Ruby (Pritchard) Arico.

He graduated from Belmont High in 1946 where he played football.

He attended Dartmouth College and then enlisted in the Army and served in Korea.

After he was married, he lived in Allston and then moved to Framingham in 1963 where he lived for 57 years.

Ken retired from the Jordan Marsh company and spent the last few years in Brewster; his second home.  He was an avid gardener, bird watcher and New England sports fan, especially to his beloved Red Sox.

He leaves behind four loving children; Christine and her husband Stephen of Brewster; Karen and her husband George of Cumberland, RI; Kevin and his wife Pamela of Brewster; Sandra and her husband John of Salt Lake City, UT. 

He was known as “Grandpa” to everyone, but especially to his grandchildren Ryan and his wife Kathy Richards, Derek Richards, Alison Arico and her husband Deniz Bertuna, Matthew Gilson, Ken Arico and Ruby Phillips.

He was blessed to have three great grandsons: Henry Richards, Charley Richards, and Aiden Bertuna.

He will be missed by his brother Herbert and his wife Lucille and his sister-in-law Barbara Arico. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph (Ted) Arico.

Ken leaves behind many friends, nieces, nephews, and neighbors.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited visiting hours at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St. (Corner of Union Ave.) Framingham on Thursday, July 14, 2022, from 3-6 p.m.

Burial will be private.
