FRAMINGHAM – Phyllis (Martin) Fitzgerald of Framingham, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2022, at the age of 96 with her devoted son Thomas and grandson Ryan at her bedside.

Phyllis was born in Altoona, PA, to William and Doris (Randall) Martin. When Phyllis was young, the Martin family moved to Natick, where she and her five siblings (Barbara Libby, Jack, William, Gene and June) remained throughout their childhood.

Phyllis was the adored wife of the late George Fitzgerald and a dedicated mother to Thomas and the late Paula Fitzgerald. Her sense of adventure and love of travel took her all over the world – whether it was just driving with her cherished grandchildren, Ryan and Christopher Fitzgerald, in her 1969 VW Beetle, skiing the Alps and Andes, SCUBA diving the Caribbean and Red Sea, or hiking Machu Picchu and the hills of Greece. She will always be remembered for her zest for life, sense of humor, love of all animals, strength of character, and being an inspiration to those who were lucky enough to have known her.

She is survived by her son Thomas and grandson Ryan; her grandson Christopher and great-grandson George; and many nieces and nephews.
