FRAMINGHAM – Here is where motorists may encounter construction in the City of Framingham this week of June 26, 2022

Construction may include City of Framingham work, MassDOT projects, gas main or water main work or other utility work, along with paving.

Work is weather permitting and schedules may change.

Buckminster Street Gas Main Replacement: Eversource Gas will continue replacing gas main and service lines on Buckminster Street. The road will be closed to traffic, and a detour will be in effect. Please seek an alternate route. 
 
Bonvini Drive Road and Sidewalk Improvements: Punch-list items. Expect minor impacts at times. 
 
Central Street, Edgell Road, and Vernon Street Gas Main Replacement: Eversource Gas will begin replacing gas main and service lines on portions of Central Street (between Edgell Road and Kellogg Street), Edgell Road (between Central and Vernon Streets), and Vernon Street (between Edgell Road and Pleasant Street). Expect moderate delays. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect. 

Edmands Road Gas Main Replacement
 : Eversource Gas will continue replacing gas main and service lines on Edmands Road between Edgell and Garvey Roads. Expect moderate to significant delays. Edmands Road southbound traffic will be detoured onto Genardy Way, Livoli Road, and McAdams Road.
 
Flagg Drive Roadway and Sidewalk Improvements: A City-hired contractor will conduct milling and paving operations on Flagg Drive. Expect moderate to significant impacts. Please seek an alternate route.

Franklin Street, Deloss Street, Beech Street, and Brewster Road Gas Main Replacement: Eversource Gas will begin replacing gas main and service lines on a portion of Franklin Street (between Deloss and Beech Streets), Deloss Street, Beech Street, and Brewster Road. Expect minor to moderate impacts. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect. 
 
Harmony Lane Road and Sidewalk Improvements: Punch-list items. Expect minor impacts at times.
 
Loring Drive and Western Avenue Pedestrian Improvements: Sidewalk work continues. Expect minor impacts at times.

Nobscot Intersection Improvements
: Install sidewalks and curbing on Water Street and Edgell Road. Utility castings will be adjusted on Edgell Road, Edmands Road, and Water Street. Overhead cables will continue to be relocated. Expect moderate delays. A lane shift or one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect. At times, traffic will be detoured through the CVS plaza.

Route 9 & 126 Drainage Project – MassDOT: Drainage work will be conducted at night, Sunday-Monday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on a portion of Worcester Road/Rt. 9 East and West. 
 
Ramp Closures will be in effect at night, Sunday-Monday, 9 PM – 5 AM: 
The Rt.9 Westbound off-ramp to Beacon Street will be closed. Traffic traveling on Rt. 9 West will be directed to use the Rt. 30/Cochituate Road ramp. Traffic traveling on Beacon Street will be directed to Fiske Ave. to use the Concord Street ramp. 

The Rt.126 Northbound off-ramp to Rt. 9 Westbound will be closed. Traffic traveling on Rt. 126 Northbound will be directed to use the Fairbanks Street/Beacon Street ramp.
 
During the day, Monday-Friday, 9 AM – 3 PM, drainage work will continue off-road where the old salt shed was located. At times, there may be minor impacts.

Union Avenue Roadway Improvements – MassDOT: Utility structure work and road excavation will continue on Union Ave. between Main Street and the Sudbury River Bridge, Monday-Thursday, 6 a.m. – 4 p.m. A detour will be in effect during working hours. Union Avenue southbound traffic to be detoured to Franklin Street. Northbound travel only on Union Avenue. 

Also, drainage work will continue on Union Ave. between the Sudbury River Bridge and Proctor Street. A one-way alternating traffic pattern or lane shift may be in effect. 

Please seek an alternate route. Expect delays.

Wood Terrace Roadway and Sidewalk Improvements: Miscellaneous road work and final paving. Expect moderate impacts. 

Worcester Road/Rt. 9 East and West, Spot Water and Sewer Improvements: Sewer work will be conducted on Rt.9 East and West (between Concord Street and Caldor Road). Work will occur at night, Monday-Thursday, 8 PM – 5 AM. Lane closures will be in effect.
