FRAMINGHAM –  MetroWest Medical Center announced today, June 1, a new Chief Nursing Officer.

Daniel Wright, MHA, BSN, RN, NE-BC started in his new role on Tuesday, May 31.

Wright joins MetroWest from Arnot Health where he served as system Chief Nursing Officer. Prior to that he was Chief Nursing Officer at HCA Healthcare’s Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, Florida.

“We are thrilled to have Dan Wright join the MetroWest Medical Center team,” said Carolyn Jackson, Interim Chief Executive Officer. “He is a seasoned nurse leader with a track record of enhancing quality of care, patient experience and nursing satisfaction, and we are confident in his ability to successfully lead the MWMC nursing team into the future.”

Wright has more than 18 years of combined management experience. Earlier in his nursing career, he worked his way from staff nurse to charge nurse, nurse manager, nursing director and beyond. He has taken on leadership roles overseeing perioperative services, clinical operations and patient care services, and also served as corporate director of nursing practice standards at HCA Healthcare.

“I’m very excited to serve our caregivers and this community,” Wright said. “I have already had the chance to meet many of our nurses, and it is clear that we share a commitment to the health and healing of the people we serve. I look forward to working closely with them, our physicians and all MetroWest team members as I embark on this new journey.”

Wright received his Associate Degree in Nursing from Hondros College School of Nursing, and both his Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master in Health Administration from Ohio University. He also completed the HCA Executive Development Program in conjunction with Harvard Business School, where he received the CNO Award in 2020.

Wright is the third Chief Nursing Officer at MetroWest Medical Center since 2018. He replaces Susan A. Mangini, who had the role since February 2019. Prior to Mangini, former CEO of MetroWest Medical Center Drew Harding was Chief Nursing Officer.

MetroWest Medical Center is the largest community health care system between Worcester and Boston. It provides services in two locations: Framingham Union in Framingham and Leonard Morse in Natick. MetroWest Medical Center is committed to meeting the health care needs of the area residents by providing advanced medicine and personalized care, right in the local community.
