WEYMOUTH – The Framingham Framingham High girls tennis team ended their regular season yesterday, May 25, with a doubleheader against Weymouth High.

Framingham won both matches against the Wildcats.

“Some of our doubles players got a chance to play singles today and some of our JV players got a chance to play in their first varsity match of the season,” said head coach Larry Wilbur.

Framingham ends the regular seaosn 8-8 overall.

“We will move on to the post-season playoffs next week.  We will find out next week who our opponent will be for our first playoff match this season,” said the head coach.

Match one was an 8-game pro-set, with the Flyers defeating the Wildcats 5-0

Senior Bela Fialho won first singles 9-7

Mei Cable, a senior, won second singles 8-6

Senior Dora Fialho won third singles 8-0.

Seniors Ella Downey and Olivia Romito was first doubles 8-5.

At second doubles, senior Natalie Allekian and junior Talia Goldvasser won 8-2.

In the second match, a 6-game pro-set Framingham won 3-2.

Framingham junior Marianne Foy won 6-0 at first singles.

Freshman Abby Hall lost second singles 0-6.

Junior Hailey Hohestein won third singles for Framingham.

Framingham lost first doubles, but junior Abby McKiernan and sophomore Violet Johnson won second doubles 6-2.
