ASHLAND – The Town Forest Committee and Ashland Department of Public Works created a new entrance to the Town Forest in 2020.

To solve a high-ground water problem, a rain garden, carefully curated with a collection of pollinator plants was installed.

Due to last year’s heavy rains, some of the plants failed to establish themselves, according to the Town.

Volunteers are needed on June 4 at 9:30 a.m. at the Oak Street entrance to replant.

Volunteer will learn about rain gardens and how they work.

Rain gardens are designed to increase rain runoff reabsorption by the soil.
