WESTBOROUGH – Margaret J. (Davenport) Lavin passed peacefully on Wednesday May 4, 2022, at the age of 94.
Born in Fort Fairfield, Maine, daughter of the late Cyrus and Temperance (Greene) Davenport.
Margaret moved to Framingham in 1962. For 25 years, Margaret worked as a waitress at the Union House Restaurant in Framingham as well as Filene’s Basement Store. She wore many hats in her earlier years. She was a potato picker, a tractor trailer truck driver, a butcher, and a bartender. She also enjoyed riding motorcycles.
Margaret was the beloved wife of Edward J. Lavin, Jr who passed away on December 2, 2010.
She is survived by her son Allan Monson and his wife Elizabeth of Nassau, NY, daughter Jill Buxton of Grafton, MA, and her son Billy Monson and his wife Maureen of Grafton, MA. Three stepchildren; Gregory Lavin, Gary Lavin and Kimberly McCallister. Her brothers Pete Davenport and his wife Nancy, Fred Davenport, and his wife Lydia all of NC. Stepsisters; Shirlene Roseman of PA and Evelene Chapman of Bolton, ON. Margaret had seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Margaret was predeceased by her sisters Carole Gilbert, Greta Totten, Rita Butler and Marilyn Lennon, her brothers Frank Davenport, Johnny Davenport, Vernon Davenport, and Jerome Davenport.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 11a.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street (corner of Union Avenue) in Framingham.
Burial will follow at St. Stephen Cemetery in Framingham.
