FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Police arrested a Framingham man and charged him with rape, armed assault, armed robbery, and other charges yesterday afternoon, April 26.
Arrested at 4:50 p.m. was Lance McDonald, 35, of 92 Lawrence Street of Framingham.
“McDonald knocked on the door of a female staying at Red Roof Inn,” on Route 30 in Framingham, said Framingham Police spokesperson Lt. Rachel Mickens. “When she opened the door he entered the room. Made threats that he was in possession of a firearm. Had her open the safe and sexually assaulted her.”
The assault and robbery happened early evening on Monday, April 25, said police.

McDonald and the woman “were not known to each other,” said Lt. Mickens.
Police investigation was done, which led to identification and arrest, said the police spokesperson.
When McDonald was arrested he did not have a firearm.
Police would only identify the woman as middle-aged. It is unknown if she is a Framingham woman living at the motel or an out-of-town guest.
Police did not release what was stolen from the motel room safe.
McDonald was charged with rape, breaking & entering daytime, assault in dwelling, armed robbery, assault in dwelling with a firearm, witness intimidation, breaking & entering into a safe, and armed assault.
