HOLLISTON – Raymond D. Moloney Jr., 81, of Holliston, passed away at Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham on Tuesday, April 19, 2022.

Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Louise (Merrill) and Raymond D. Moloney Sr.

He was the husband of 24 years to Carole Fleming Moloney of Holliston.

Ray was a graduate of Framingham North High School.

He was in charge of maintenance for the Holliston schools.

Ray was a proud and respected member of the Holliston Fire Department for 35 years. 

Of his 35 years with the department, Ray was a Firefighter, Deputy Fire Chief, a position he held for five years and then became the Fire Chief for 10 years, until his retirement in 2000.

He was a life member of the Marshfield Yacht Club as well as a member of the Franklin Elks and Saint Mary’s Church. Ray enjoyed fishing, hunting and living the winter months in Venice, FL. for the past 23 years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Raymond Moloney and his wife, Giselle of Blackstone, Theresa Moloney of Bellingham, Edward Moloney and his wife, Christine of Sandwich; 6 grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Moloney, Jamie LeMay, Austin, Tucker, Abby Moloney and Nicholas Haight; and 3 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his step-children, Tom Fleming of Holliston, Karen Fleming Dodge of Ashland, David Fleming and his wife, Denise of Los Angeles, CA and 6 step-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his first wife, Florence Moloney. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 22 from 4 to 7 p.m.. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com Masks are optional. 

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 23 at 9 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church of Holliston. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
