FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High girls tennis team won its first match of the season against the Timberwolves of Walpole High on Monday, April 11.

Two of the games went three sets. Flyers won 3-2.

Framingham is now 1-1.

“The girls are showing true grit and mental toughness early in the season,” said head coach Larry Wilbur.

Framingham junior Christina Avila won at second singles in a third set tie-breaker. Score was 0-6, 6-2 and 7-6.

Framingham junior Marianne Foy won at third singles 6-4 and 6-3.

Framingham seniors Bela Fialho and Mei Cable won at second doubles 6-1 and 6-1.

Framingham’s first doubles team Olivia Romito and Talia Goldvassar, lost in a second set tie breaker 5-7 and 6-7.

Framingham sophomore Jordan Sisitsky lost in a third set super tie breaker, said coach Wilbur.

Scores were 5-7, 6-3 and 6-10.

The Framingham High girls tennis team travels to Milton for a match against the Wildcats on Wednesday, April 13.
