FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Fire Department responded to Delmar Avenue this morning, April 2, for a furnace issue.

The call originally came over the scanner as a possible chimney fire.

Instead, the incident turned out to be “delayed ignition, a misfiring in the furnace,” explained Fire Chief Michael Dutcher.

“Furnace will need to be serviced but otherwise no issues,” said the Chief.

“We typically see this at the beginning of the heating season but because of some recent nice weather often leads to residents shutting down the furnace.  On a raw day like today, resident turned on heat and the unit misfired,” said the Chief.
