FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High girls tennis team opened the season at Bowditch Field this afternoon, April 5.

The Flyers hosted Braintree High for the home opener. Braintree won 5-0.

“Good first match of the season, especially two of the matches going three sets,” said Coach Larry Wilbur. “Good foundation to build on going forward this season.” 

Sophomore Jordan Sisitsky lost first singles 1-6 and 1-6.

Junior Christina Avila lost second singles 0-6 and 1-6.

Junior Marianne Foy went three sets but lost 6-7, 6-4, and 1-6.

In first doubles, senior Ella Downey and junior Talia Goldvassar lost 6-2, 4-6, and 3-6.

In second doubles, seniors Bela Fialho and Mei Cable lost 6-2 and 5-7, (9-11).

The Flyers will host Walpole High on April 11 at Bowditch Field.
