MARLBOROUGH – Bernard M. Goodwin, 88 of Marlborough and formerly of Brookline died Sunday March 13, 2022.

He was the husband of Judith K. Goodwin-Lennemann for the past 46 years. Born in Boston, the son of the late John J. and Anna E. (O’Hara) Goodwin.

He graduated from M.I.T. with a degree of Doctor of Science and was a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.

He was a beloved Professor who taught Chemical Engineering at Northeastern University for 40 years retiring in 2003.

Bernie enjoyed traveling throughout New England with his wife Judy, from apple picking, to visiting the many farm stands along the way.

He was an ardent supporter of the Theater, Museums and the Arts. He loved the big city and all of the history it had to offer but later fell in love with the country feel of small towns. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He was compassionate and adopted many rescue dogs over his lifetime. 

In addition to his wife Judith he leaves a sister Ann Foley; a brother- in-law,  Henry Foley and several loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two brothers, John and Robert Goodwin. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday March 19 at 10 a.m. in St. Matthias Church, 409 Hemenway Street, Marlborough.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 5-7 p.m. in the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. 

Burial will be private.
