NATICK – A woman was struck and killed by a commuter rail train in Natick on Monday, March 14.

The woman was struck by a MBTA commuter rail train headed from Boston to Framingham/Worcester.

The incident happened just about 11:30 a.m. near 228 East CentralStreet, which is about a quarter-mile from the downtown Natick centre station.

The woman was transported to MetroWest Medical center, where she was declared deceased.

MBTA Police are investigating.

Natick Police and Natick Fire responded to the scene.

The train remained on the track, with passengers on board, until after 1:30 p.m. when Keolis/MBTA brought another train to transfer the passengers aboard.
