FRAMINGHAM -The Framingham License Commission Monday night, February 28, unanimously approved a new restaurant’s common victualler license

The establishment plans to open in the former Volturno site at 1 Edgell Road in Framingham. Volturno closed in March 2020 when the pandemic began.

Agape Restaurant Group LLC applied for the license to open under Silk Global Cuisine.

The applicants told the Commission the menu will cover “every part of the world. (See below for menu submitted to the License Commission)

The applicants for the restaurant were Suman Kota of Bolyston and Karthik Mada of Shrewsbury.

Agape Restaurant Group has a 5-year lease with the first year at $108,192.

The proposed manger is Laxmi Kota, with Devanand Chinta as assistant manager.

The proposed capacity is 148, with 90 customers indoors and 20 customers on patio. Proposed menu includes breakfast, lunch, & dinner (see below for portion of menu)

“I think the menu looks exciting,” said Chair Tiel Wadland.

The establishment still needs to go before the Framingham License Commission for an alcohol license and get approval from the state’s ABCC.

The applicant told the Commission they plan to “open second or third week of March.”

The applicant said they are not doing renovations to the former Volturno site, but cosmetic changes like lighting.

Commissioner Sara Porter said she was excited someone was moving into the empty space.

The hours approved for the license are Mondays through Sundays from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m.
