PLYMOUTH, NEW HAMPSHIRE – Plymouth State’s Peter Laviolette and Anton Nasstrom each scored twice as the Panthers defeated Framingham State in MASCAC action 7-0 on Thursday evening. 

With the victory, Plymouth State improves to 16-5-2 overall.

With the loss, The Rams are now 1-14-1 in Conference play and 2-18-1 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • The Panthers came out hot scoring four times in just over the first ten minutes of play. Mike McPherson scored in the fourth minute followed by a Nasstrom tally in the 7th. The Panthers scored twice on the power play when Laviolette scored his first of the night in the 8th minute followed by another Nasstrom goal in the tenth minute.  
  • Myles Abbate got in on the action five minutes into the second before Laviolette scored his second goal of the game about ten minutes later. Whim Stalberg scored on the man advantage early in the third to reach the final margin.

  • The Panthers outshot the Rams 80-to-17 in the contest. Brendahn Brawley made 17 saves in the shutout. Trevor Stenberg turned away 73 shots in the effort for the Rams.  
  • The Rams were 0-for-2 on the power play while the Panthers were 3-for-7 on the man advantage. Penalties really plagued the Rams as they were called for 15 infractions totaling 78 minutes while the Panthers were penalized four times for a total of eight minutes.
