FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham State University women’s basketball team cruised to a 99-61 win over visiting Fitchburg State in MASCAC action Saturday afternoon in Framingham. 

The Rams remain undefeated in Conference play at 9-0 and are 17-3 overall.

The Falcons fall to 2-16 overall.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:  

  • Rams sophomore forward Flannery O’Connor once again led all scorers with 26 points, all in the first half, to go along with her 11 rebounds and four rejections.  
  • Classmate Katty Haidul added seventeen points going 7-for-10 from the floor and picking up six rebounds. Seniors Krysta Padellaro and Camille Desrochers added 15 points and 12 points each and Gwendolyn Carpender dished out 10 assists.  
  • Freshman Kelsey Yelle added 10 points and five boards off the bench for the Rams.  
  • Ephemian Bailey and Jadelen Harold were the leading scorers for the Falcons picking up ten points a piece.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • With the game tied 5-5 early on the Rams went on a 10-2 run midway through the first quarter capped by two Haidul free throws to lead 15-7 and the Rams would never look back. The Rams would lead 29-17 after the first quarter and outscore the Falcons 29-11 in the second to send the hosts into the break leading 58-28. 

UP NEXT: The Rams return to the court on Wednesday when they travel to MCLA for MASCAC action at 5:30p.m. The Falcons host Salem on Monday at 6pm.
