WAYLAND – William Connor McInnis, 7 years of age, died unexpectedly on January 8, 2022.

He was born on May 20, 2014, the loving son of Paul J. McInnis and Jill N. Carmody, and brother of Madelyn G. McInnis of Wayland.

William is the beloved grandson of Sally (Noyes) Carmody and John Carmody of Wayland and Kathleen (Hill) McInnis and Charles McInnis, Sr. of Framingham.

William touched so many lives with his open heart and he will live on in our memories forever. He was sweet, kind, curious, and thoughtful. He had the most contagious smile and gave the absolute best hugs.

William loved spending time with friends and family, and his dog Brooks. He was a best friend to his big sister Madelyn. He could often be found on the sports field playing football, baseball, or soccer. He was a hard-working second grade student at Loker School in Wayland where he was a caring friend to his classmates.

William loved building legos, playing video games, drumming on his drum set, and reading graphic novels. He was an expert at making pancakes and boxed macaroni and cheese. He was happy, funny, full of energy, and lived every moment to its fullest. He brightened the lives of all those around him.

William is also survived by his aunts and uncles Holly Carmody and Ian Kenney, Daniel and Catherine McInnis, Elizabeth and Justin Slattery, Charles McInnis, Jr., and Juliana McInnis, his cousins Austin and Graham Slattery, Fulton McInnis, and Jackson Kenney, as well as his extended family and friends.

Walk through visitations will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rte 30), Wayland.

Memory cards will be available at the funeral home for family and friends to hand-write remembrances as a keepsake for William’s family.

At the request of the family, masks must be worn during visitations.

Private services will be held for William’s family.

At his parents request, in lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may remember William with a gift to the Boston Children’s Hospital, Attn: Donations, 300 Longwood Ave, Boston, MA 02115 or New England Donor Services, Attn: Caitlyn Bernabucci, 60 First Ave, Waltham, MA 02451.
