NATICK – Natick Public Schools is adding an additional early release for elementary and middle school student on January 19, announced Superintendent Anna Nolin.

“In order to address and recover learning due to absenteeism, the need for staff to be prepared for additional outages, and to reach students at home who may be ill or quarantined, we were slated for an early release on the 7th which was not able to occur due to the snow day,” wrote the Superintendent.

“Staff will reach out to families with the manner of make up work and the digital tools needed for this. We will send home technology if needed and teachers are creating materials and in some cases online meetings to keep students connected and learning,” wrote Nolin.

“The new day for early release will be 1/19/22. This change affects all elementary school and middle school students,” wrote Nolin.

“As a working parent, I know how hard these days are and I would not make this decision if it was not absolutely necessary for our staff to address student needs,” wrote Supt. Nolin.

The Natick School Committee has to approved the revised calendar change. The next Natick School Committee meeting is January 10.
