FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Superintendent of Schools Bob Tremblay announced today, December 20, he has selected Tiffany Lillie as the Assistant Superintendent for Equity, Diversity, and Community Engagement for the Framingham Public Schools.

The appointment still requires a vote by the 9-member elected Framingham School Committee. That vote will take place in January 2022.

Lillie currently serves as the Director of Community Resource Development (CRD) for the Framingham Public Schools. In her role, Tiffany manages the Out of School Time (OST) programs for over 2000 students and 250 employees. The department works with many local nonprofits and community partners to provide equity and access for all students and programs. Prior to joining the MetroWest community, Ms. Lillie has worked around the State with several community-based organizations and municipal government agencies for over 10 years including You Inc., YWCA, Girls Inc, Wayside Youth and Family Support Network and the City of Cambridge.

Her educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Boston and a Master’s Degree in Urban Affairs from Boston University. Ms. Lillie also serves on the board of RIA Inc., Leadership Metrowest, and serves as a Pelham Lifelong Learning Center Advisory Board member.

Through the work of volunteers from different stakeholder groups, internal interviews, a writing assignment, and a day spent in several of our schools, Ms. Lillie was promoted as a finalist for the position. Following this, the District hosted a ‘Meet the Candidates’ Forum where attendees were invited to ask questions and provide feedback in a survey to Dr. Tremblay, Superintendent of Framingham Public Schools.

“My experiences as a Latina female in this world have fueled my passion to take on the work of equity”, said Lillie. “As said by Audre Lorde, ‘You do not have to be me in order for us to fight alongside each other.’ I take that to heart and enter this role humbly, acknowledging the privileges I benefit from, with a commitment to our students, staff, families and community.”
