NATICK – Scott Mitchell, Sr., 74, died peacefully with his wife Marie at his side on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham.
He was born in Newton on December 17, 1946 and was a lifelong Natick resident.
Scott was the beloved husband for 53 years, Marie T. (Nickinello) Mitchell of Natick.
Loving father of Scott Mitchell, Jr. and his wife Kelly of Gorham, Maine; Laura Treonze and her
husband Todd of Fairfield, CT and Adam Mitchell and his wife Adelina of Norfolk. Cherished
grandfather of Madison Mitchell, Gabriella Mitchell, Melina Mitchell, Taylor Treonze, Macen
Mitchell, Adriana Mitchell, Mitchell Treonze and Mia Faith Mitchell. Brother of Susan Jernigan
of MO and Jill Olinger of WA. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Scott was a graduate of Natick High School. He served his country proudly and with honor as a Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division serving in the Dominican Republic.
He retired after 20 dedicated years as a plumber with the Raytheon Company in Wayland and Sudbury. He was a member of the Natick AMVETS and the Elks in Wareham. Also a member of the LTG. James M. Gavin Chapter 82nd Airborne Division.
He was dedicated to his family who was the center of his life. A devoted husband, father,
and grandfather who loved making memories with them. Scott and Marie enjoyed traveling throughout New England in their RV especially to Wareham and Pine Point in Maine where they enjoyed time with family and friends.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed nature and occasionally the challenges that fishing on a boat with his sons brought him.
Scott was larger than life and was always willing to lend a hand; he was generous with his time and talents. He will be fondly missed by all those that he touched in his lifetime.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rt. 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland. At the request of his family, the wearing of masks at the funeral home is optional.
Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday December 17, 2021 at 9 a.m. followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Good Shepherd Parish at St. Zepherin Church, 99 Main Street Street (Route 27) Cochituate Village, Wayland

Interment will follow in the Mitchell family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
In lieu of flowers, his family kindly suggests that memorial remembrances in Scott’s memory may be sent to Shriners Children’s Hospital, 51 Blossom St, Boston, MA 02114.
