FRAMINGHAM – Jane Ellen (Robinson) Wennerberg passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the Mary Ann Morse Rehabilitation facility in Natick, with her family at her bedside.

Jane was born February 24, 1939 in Hartford, CT to the late Catherine and Frederick Robinson. She grew up in East Hartford and attended St. Joseph’s College in West Hartford, CT for Early Childhood Education.

She married George Wennerberg in 1960. They moved to Framingham in 1967 where they raised six children before separating in 1996.

Jane was a beloved mother, grandmother, neighbor, and friend.  She was extremely compassionate, always willing to advocate for those in need. Her work with NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) as a volunteer and board member was very important to her and instrumental in making positive changes within the community. She met some of her best friends within this organization as they advocated for better services in housing, employment, and improved access to support for the clients and their families.

In addition to her contributions in the community, Jane enjoyed her work as a Nursery School Teacher, and later, working for over 20 years as a receptionist for the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents (MAIA) in Milford.

She loved singing, dancing and performing on stage from an early age. She was a member of the St. George’s Church Choir in Saxonville, and one of her favorite memories was when they traveled to Rome and performed for the Pope. She spent many years singing with the Northborough Area Community Chorus and she loved to perform with her clogging group.  She was also an avid Bridge player.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was affectionately known as G-MA.  She always looked forward to attending their many activities, and spent countless hours proudly cheering them on. If you knew Jane, you knew all about her grandchildren.

She loved taking trips to her vacation home in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. A place where she would enjoy reading a good book and sitting by the ocean.

Jane will be remembered for her kindness to others, her dedication to her family and friends, and her resilience through life’s challenges.

Jane leaves behind her children Steven of Pawtucket, RI, Susan and her husband Robert Teplansky of Yarmouth Port, MA,  Brian of Framingham,  Scott of Framingham, Michael and his husband Marcos of Framingham, James of Attleborough, and five grandchildren, Xander , Zach and Max Teplansky, and  Justen and Aubrey Wennerberg,

Other beloved family members include daughter-in-law, Olga Wennerberg of Georgia, her daughter Olga Etris and husband Shane Etris of Georgia, and their son Joaquin Etris.  Her cousins Penny Shea and her husband Jim Shea of Windsor Locks, CT and Pam Sullivan and her husband Al Sullivan of Danville, CA.

We would like to thank Judy Diamond of Marlborough, for all the care, assistance, company, and good will you gave to Jane through a challenging time. Your dedication to her and our family will never be forgotten.

Funeral arrangements are private.
