NATICK – Elvara “Elvie” (Foley) McIver, 92 of Natick passed away peacefully at her home after a brief illness on Saturday November 27, 2021.

Daughter of the late Patrick and Elizabeth (Fullen) Foley.

Beloved wife of Donald J. McIver of Natick. Devoted mother of Maureen McIver of Falmouth, Jim McIver and his wife Marthanne of Natick, Kathy McDaniel of Natick and her late husband Michael, and Susan Kiggen and her husband Joseph of Natick. Proud Nonnie of Katie and Lauren McIver, Abigail and Sarah Kiggen, and Caroline McDaniel. Sister of the late Frank and Mary Foley, and Betty Hoey. Survived by many nieces and nephews.

Elvie was born in Baltimore, Maryland and was raised in Natick by her aunt and uncle Isabel and James Fair.

She graduated from Natick High School in 1948 before attending Framingham State College.

She worked for the Telephone Company as a service representative until the birth of her first child, Maureen and then devoted herself to her family as a full-time homemaker, a role which she cherished. Along with spending time with her family, one of Elvie’s joys was traveling which she did extensively with her husband Don including many trips to her favorite destination of Positano Italy. Elvie was a passionate reader and a common sight during the summer in Wells, ME was Elvie on the beach enjoying a good book. Elvie laughed easily and was happiest surrounded by her family. Elvie was a devoted member of St Patrick’s Parish in Natick and took great comfort in her faith.

Elvie’s family would like to thank Riverbend of South Natick and MetroWest Homecare & Hospice for their wonderful, compassionate care.

Funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street in Natick on Wednesday December 1, 2021 at 9 a.m.

Funeral Mass in St. Patrick’s Church, 44 E. Central St. (Rt. 135), Natick at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Tuesday from4 to 7 p.m.

Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Natick.
