FRAMINGHAM – Jean Loraine (Ciardi) Chignola passed away on November 26, 2021 at the age of 91 years.  

A longtime resident of Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary Ciardi of Quincy.

Jean had an outstanding life as a mother and delighted in her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

She also managed to volunteer in the Framingham School System as a lunch monitor at the Stapleton School, spent 20 plus years working for Diet Workshop, she became an aide for a blind girl and followed her throughout the school system and on to Regis College.

Later Jean returned to volunteering at the Cameron School Library until the Librarian’s retirement.

All were busy but fulfilling times in her life.  Jean will be remembered as an active member of St. George Parish with her baking skills for the church’s social gatherings and her regular attendance, socializing at the 4pm mass on Saturdays until her Parkinson’s forced her into assisted living.

Jean is survived by her beloved husband, William L. Chignola of 70 years, four children, William L. Jr., Lynne S. Rufo, Bruce W. and his wife Martha Ann, Mark W. and his wife Linda, her six grandchildren, 1st lt. Joseph W., and his wife Michelle, Jennifer M, Christopher W, Nicole A, Jordan L., Jacqueline M, two great grandsons, Joshua W, and Benjamin L, and her sister, Camille A. Beale of Falmouth.

Family and friends will honor and remember Jean’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln Street Framingham on Wednesday, December 1 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. George Church, 74 School Street in Saxonville, on Thursday morning at 10 o’clock.  Interment will follow in St. Stephen Cemetery.
